He is survived by his wife, Tennis Irene Smith; two sons, Steven of Cunningham and Alan of Calvert City; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Iva Owen, Cotter, Iowa, Eva Knopp, Burlington, Iowa, Erma Reynolds, Oneida, Ill., Carol Staff, New London, Iowa.; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Billy T. Smith of Clarksville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Inez Stigge Dietsch, and his brother.
A WWII veteran, he served with the US Army Air Forces 488th Bombardment Group (H). He retired from Boatman’s Bank Share Company as a vice-president of agricultural lending.
Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Billy T. Smith at a later date. Interment will be in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.
