Attorneys entered four motions Tuesday in the retrial of a man convicted in the 2007 killing of a Marshall County woman. Attorneys for George Luna, who was convicted in 2008 of killing Debra Hendrickson, motioned in Marshall County Circuit Court for a change of venue and a trial continuation. The defense cited local media coverage as a reason for requesting the trial be moved to Christian County.

Attorney James Burkeen said Jamie Jameson had recently been added to the defense and requested more time to allow Jameson to prepare for trial.

Special Commonwealth prosecutor Todd Lewis motioned to introduce evidence and conduct a pretrial deposition. The Commonwealth also opposed both of the defense's motions. Judge Dennis Foust conferred with counsels and is expected to rule on the motions next week.

Luna was tried in 2008 in Marshall County and convicted of murder. A state supreme court ruling in November granted Luna a retrial. Luna is currently set to go to trial Sept. 19 in Marshall County Circuit Court.
