(Emma) Sue Tubb Rossmassler died on Monday, July 25, 2011, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, following an extended illness.

Sue was born April 10, 1924, in Wilson County, Tenn. to Lillie (Oakley) and Preston E. Tubb Sr. She was valedictorian of her Watertown High School class. While working for the Atomic Energy Commission at Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, Tenn., she met her husband, William R. Rossmassler Jr. They married February 8, 1947. Upon Bill’s transfer in 1951 to Union Carbide in Paducah, they purchased property on Clinton Road, where they lived happily for 54 years. Sue and Bill treasured time spent with family at the Rossmassler summer home on Grindstone Island in Thousand Islands, N.Y. Sue was an avid gardener, a gifted cook, a gracious hostess and a thoughtful neighbor. She was active in the Paducah community, where she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church (58 years), the Westminster Morning Circle, the Perennial Garden Club, the Evening Bridge Club and P.E.O. International.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Preston Tubb Jr.; her twin brother, Joe Tubb; and her beloved husband, Bill.

She is survived by nieces, Charleen (Wayne) LaTondress of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Janette Tubb (Mark Rogers) of Dallas, Texas, Rebecca (Dale) Rickard of Manassas, Va., and Jan (Tom) Roberson of Asheville, N.C.; nephews, Richard Tubb (Brenda Beasley) of Mt. Juliet and Joe Randall Tubb (Marilyn Duncan) of Wartburg, Tenn.; her sister-in-law, Thelma Atwood Tubb of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and 18 great-nieces and nephews. Sue is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frances and Peter Rossmassler of Newtown, Pa., and their three sons, nephews Bill (Wendy) of Middlesex, Vt., Tom (Sarah) of Hatfield, Mass., and Richard of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and five great-nieces and nephews.

Sue’s family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of Caroline Cares, the staff of Superior Care Home and her many faithful friends for their caring attention and continued support.
