meet draws
29 teams from
the region

DRAFFENVILLE Marshall County High School hosted the 13th annual Invitational of the South track and field meet Saturday.
The event drew 29 teams from three states.
The Marshall County men’s team placed in the top ten in 13 of 20 events giving them the number six spot in team rankings.
The Marshals’ best performance came in the 4x400 meter relay where the team took second place.
The freshman 4x400 relay team took fourth place.
Andrew Johnston placed third in the pole vault event with a vault of 12 feet.
Sam Devore took the fourth spot in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.
Josh Madding claimed fifth place honors in the boys high jump and long jump.
Marshall County’s Robert Hageman took fifth in the shot put.
The Lady Marshals turned in an equally impressive performance posting seventh, out of 29, in the team rankings.
Freshman Lauren Miller took second place in the 100 meter hurdles and took the third place spot in the 300 meter hurdles.
Leslie Hood and Brittany Martin took fourth and fifth place honors respectively in the 100 meter hurdles.
The Lady Marshals’ 4x800 meter relay team claimed a fourth place finish.
Katie Darnall took second place in the pole vault by clearing eight feet.
Olivia Thomas turned in a fifth place performance in the discus throw.
Marshall County’s track team will see its next action Saturday April 18 at the Hopkinsville Invitational.
