Marshall County earns win over Graves County

edge through all
four quarters

GRAVes county– The Lady Marshals played the Graves County Lady Eagles on Friday at Graves County High School. The Lady Eagles record coming into this contest with the Lady Marshals was 8-7 on the season.

Marshal County got on the scoreboard first leading 4-0. The Lady Marshals would maintain their four point lead at the end of the first quarter with the score 9-5.

Two field goals in the beginning of the second quarter doubled the Lady Marshals lead to eight, 13-5. The Lady Marshals outscored the Lady Eagles 10-5 in the next few minutes in part by good inside shots by Lena Bohannon, extending the lead to 23-10. Kaylin Goins contributed five points coming off the bench in the second quarter adding to the Lady Marshals 29-14 halftime lead over the Lady Eagles.

Graves County outscored the Lady Marshals 10-9 in the third quarter but the lead was still 14 going into the fourth quarter with a score of 38-24.

The Lady Marshals held Graves County to just three points in the final quarter of play outscoring them 14-3, beating the Lady Eagles by a final score of 52-27.

Lena Bohannon had a double- double for the Lady Marshals with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Michaela Hunt also brought down 11 rebounds and Margaret Thomas had seven assists in the Lady Marshals win.

The Lady Marshals record is now 10-5 as they head to Paducah Tilghman High School tonight (Tuesda) to play the Lady Tornados following the JV girl’s game at 6 p.m.
