Fourteen Marshals
add to win over CCA

MARSHALL COUNTY–Marshall County hosted the Community Christian Academy Warriors in their Homecoming game last week. CCA came into this matchup with the Marshals with only one win to their credit so far this season.

Stephen Atkinson put the first four points of the game on the scoreboard for the Marshals. Both of Chase York’s three pointers came in the first quarter which ended with the Marshals on top of CCA by a score of 21-5.

In the second quarter of play, the Marshals added 14 more points to their total before CCA scored again at the halfway point of the quarter. CCA would only make one more field goal of the quarter. Marshall County went into halftime with a 43-9 lead.

The Marshals extended their lead over CCA, leading by 40 with a score of 64-24 at the end of the third quarter.

Coach Gillespie went to his bench for much of the fourth quarter. Fifteen Marshals saw playing time in this game and 14 players put points on the board. Marshall County beat CCA with a final score of 75-37.

Tanner Wilson had five three point baskets to his credit and led all Marshals in points with 17. Lyle Rommelman of CCA scored 26 of the 37 point game total for the Warriors.

The Marshals record stands at 12 wins and two losses and they will be in action again on Friday at Graves County High School.
