Racers tie for longest win streak at 15

There is some excellent college basketball being played just a few miles down the road at Murray State University.

The Racers are tied with Butler University for the longest current winning streak in college basketball in the nation at 15 after their win over Jacksonville State on Saturday.

Dick Vitale mentioned them during ESPN’s broadcast of the UK-UT game on Saturday as one of the very few teams left that are undefeated in conference play.

The Racers are 24-3 overall and 15-0 in the OVC. With a win over Southeast Missouri State at home tonight the Racers will tie the all-time winning streak of the MSU basketball program of 16 set back in the late 1930’s under the first Racer head coach Carlisle Cutchin.

The Racers have also won 21 consecutive regular season conference games at the RSEC.

So being a former Murray State Cheerleader I must finish with this.....GOOOOOO RACERS!
