MARSHALL COUNTY– Two Marshall County head coaches have resigned according to the Athletic Office at Marshall County High School.

Clare Boggess, head volleyball coach for the past two seasons, has resigned her position.

“I have enjoyed coaching at Marshall County with such great administrative support, parent support and community support,” said Boggess.

Under Boggess’ leadership, the team won two District Championships, two Regional Championships and played in two State Tournaments, advancing to the Elite 8 this past season. Boggess also reached her 300th coaching career win while at Marshall County.

“Watching the girls blossom not only as players but more importantly as young women, is very rewarding,” said Boggess

Paul Hafer, Marshall County Swim Team coach, has also resigned his head coach position, citing personal reasons.

Hafer has been the swim team coach since 1995. Under his tenure as swim coach, Hafer took swimmers to the State swim meet seven of his 15 years.

Hafer, a former Navy Seal and Ski Nut, had a special place in his heart for swimming. His daughter was a swimmer and when she entered sixth grade in 1995 the swim team was formed at Marshall County High School.

Hafer and his family also coached the Orange Waves Swim Team at Calvert City County Club from its inception until 2006.
