CALVERT CITY It was a little boy’s dream. The thunderous roar of exaust, sounds of crushing cars and enthusiastic cheers of die-hard fans all made for an evening of excitement on the dirt track of Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway this weekend.
Fans turned out in droves, many standing for lack of seating, for the annual Monster Truck Jam in Calvert City. Kids and adults alike waved their flags and cheered for their favorite monster trucks.
“Rap Attack,” “Stone Crusher,” “War Wizard,” “Mopar Magic” and star attraction “Grave Digger” raced and crunched their way across the track, delighting kids and parents alike Friday and Saturday evening.
Monster trucks weren’t the only attraction, however. Ultimate Terrain Vehicle and 4-wheeler racing were an evening highlight, prompting fans to stand up and cheer for their favorite racers and teams.
By the end of the evening’s racing and freestyle events, the crowd favorite “Grave Digger,” driven by seasoned driver Gary Porter, took the limelight, entering the winner’s circle with a perfect score.
