anniversary: Larimer
Elder Arlie and Mary Larimer will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 3.
The couple married in McCracken County at the home of Albert Johnson, who officiated. Their attendants were Frank Riley and Eulene Atwood.
Mrs. Larimer, the former Miss Mary Gillihan, is the daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Gillihan.
Elder Larimer is the son of the late Horace and Cora Larimer. He is the pastor of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church.
Together, the couple ran a local grocery store in Possum Trot, as well as a farm on Mt. Moriah Road.
They have three children, Terry Larimer and Cora Stice, both of Calvert City, and the late Dolph Larimer.
They are the grandparents of nine grandchildren, Todd, Brett, Brandon and Anna-Rebecca Larimer, David and Mark English, Tonya Parrott, Rechelle Turner and Amanda Stice.
They have 10 great-grandchildren.
The couple celebrated with a family dinner at Patti’s 1880s Settlement in Grand Rivers.

Cassie Gibson and Gabe Barrett were united in marriage on May 22, 2010, at the home of the bride on Bryant Road.
Jason Scott, minister at Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Ga., and Marshall County Judge-Executive Mike Miller officiated.
Parents of the bride are Bill and Dr. Wendy Gibson of Benton.
Parents of the groom are Len and Sandra Barrett of Alexander City, Ala.
Grandmother of the bride is Arabella Sowell. Grandparents of the groom are Laura and L.G. Barrett of Alexander City, Ala.
The bride chose Andrea Chapman of Louisville as her maid of honor and Lisa Gibson, Casey Northcutt and Lacey Holmes as her bridesmaids.
The groom chose Nathan Greer of Alexander City, Ala. as his best man and Brian Lilly, Chris Todd and Arsenio Cash as his groomsmen.
Ushers were Andy and Nick Gibson and Jack Jeffords. Noah Jeffords was the ringbearer, and Autumn Jeffords and Tori Ary were flower girls.
Music was provided by David Dycus.
A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride.
The couple currently resides in Mobile, Ala.

Jared and Chloe Chandler of Hawaii, are proud to announce the birth of their baby brother, Jacob Kyle Chandler.
Jacob was born on Monday, July 5, 2010, in Hawaii. He weighed nine pounds, six ounces and was 21 inches long.
His parents are Captain Michael and Sheila Chandler.
His grandparents are Jerry and Dianna Chandler of Benton and Danny and Connie Uzzle of Benton.
