DRAFFENVILLE – It was just after 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon when firefighters were dispatched to the scene of a mobile home fire in Draffenville

According to firefighters on scene, the blaze, located at the crossing of U.S. Highway 68 and Highway 641, was “fully involved” by the time of their arrival.

Coincidentally, firefighters were already nearby completing driver training at Central Elementary School in Draffenville when the call was dispatched.

This enabled multiple units to arrive on-scene within minutes.
The fire was extinguished with the assistance of the East Marshall & Harvey-Brewers Fire Departments.

According to Palma-Briensburg Fire Chief Jason Luebker, investigation revealed the fire was reported to Marshall County E-911 dispatch by an occupant of the residence, who discovered the fire in a bedroom and immediately exited the mobile home.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

No occupants were injured as a result of the fire, however one firefighter was treated and released for heat-related injuries as a result of the fire fighting operations.

The business located next door, TCB Automotive, was also damaged by the blaze.
