Benton Police arrest 22-year old
for alleged contact with juveniles

BENTON – A Benton man has been arrested for two counts of alleged first degree sexual abuse following a complaint by social services.

Brock Landon Etheridge, 22, was charged with the crimes following an investigation by the Benton Police Department. According to a release by Chief Tracy Watwood, Benton police were notified concerning the possible abuse of two juvenile males, both under 12 years of age.

Investigators found Etheridge had access to the children between 2009 and early 2010. Investigators believe both boys had been sexually abused.

During an interview with authorities, Etheridge admitted to inappropriately touching the juveniles on two occasions, according to Watwood.

Etheridge was arrested June 5 and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center with a $10,000 cash bond. First degree sexual abuse, victim under 12 years of age, is a Class C felony.

The Benton Police Department was assisted by the Cabinet for Family Based Services and the Purchase Area Sexual Assault Center.
