CALVERT CITY A Calvert City Police officer was injured Saturday night. Officer Nick Spears was injured in a vehicle collision on the Purhcase Parkway around 10 p.m. while on-duty.
Spears was traveling northbound on the parkway for the Interstate 24 onramp when his vehicle left the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.
Suffering multiple injuries, Spears was airlifted from the scene by PHI Air Medical and flown to Vanderbilt Hospital. As of presstime Monday, Spears was listed in stable condition.
An account for for the Spears family Nick, wife Amber and 9-month-old daughter Kylee is being established at Regions Bank. Spears transfered to the Calvert City Police Department approximately two years ago from the Livingston Sheriff’s Department.
Calvert City Police Chief David Elliott could not be reached for comment and no further details were available as of presstime.
