Jerry and Dianna Chandler of Benton celebrated their 50th anniversary on September 1 at Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church with a re-newal of their vows and a sand ceremony conducted by Dr. Kenneth Brown of Paducah. A cake and punch reception followed in the Fellowship Hall. Hostesses were Cara and Lindsey Chandler. A family dinner at Patti’s Restaurant followed the reception.

Jerry Chandler and the former Dianna Krzyzewski were married on September 5, 1962 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton by Rev. J. Frank Young. Their attendants were Myrle and Maryann Sturgell of Benton.

Mr. Chandler worked for the USAF, was a US Deputy Marshall, a police officer for the TVA and in 2001 he retired from the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion plant as a security officer. Mrs. Chandler is a homemaker and enjoys photography, writing and martial arts.

The couple has five children, Lisa Chandler Miller of Alaska, Richard Chandler of Benton, Michael Chandler of Ala., David Chandler of Benton and Daniel Chandler of Benton. They have eight grandchildren.
