Woman stabbed in Hardin fight

Deputies of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department found a woman stabbed Tuesday on College Street in Hardin.

Investigators say upon arrival, she was found with a stab wound and a knife in the floor in front of the couch. Deputies charged Michael D. Nicholas, 58, of Gilbertsville, with first degree assault, domestic violence.

Chief Deputy David Maddox, of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, said it is his agency's policy not to release the name of a victim of domestic violence.

The victim was taken to Marshall County Hospital.
