William Lawrence “Larry” Traughber, 77, of Hardin died Saturday, Aug. 18, at his residence. He was a member of Union Ridge Baptist Church in Aurora.

Mr. Traughber worked as a heavy equipment operator for TVA where he retired in 1994. He owned his own custom dozing business from 1969 to 1979.

He was the son of Tom Traughber and Nannie Lou Adams Traughber.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Traughber of Hardin; daughters Anna Redden of Benton and Linda Traughber Hargrove of Reidland; son Gary Traughber of Murray; sisters Polly Underwood of Michigan, Marjorie Carney of Benton and Christine Binkley of Springfield, Tenn.; brother Harold Traughber of Cedar Hill, Tenn.; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.

The funeral service will be at Union Ridge Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, with Rev. George Culp officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday between 9 and 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
