William Harvey Butler, 87, Calvert City, died Thursday, Nov. 1, at his home in Calvert City.
A Gilbertsville native, he was a retired ironworker for Local 782 in Paducah. He was also a member of Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543 for 60 years.
Mr. Butler served in the U.S. Navy and Tennessee National Guard. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a son, Donald Butler, and daughter, Dava Lynn Butler, both of Calvert City; a brother, Ward R. Butler of Grand Rivers; and a sister, Doris Ellington of Calvert City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Barrett Butler; his parents, William Hasting Butler and Ivalena Dunn Butler, a brother, Samuel Butler; and sisters Tessie Gordon and Hazel Barrett.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 4, at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton with the Rev. Charles Westfall officiating.
Interment with military Hhonors followed in Provine Cemetery.
