He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by a daughter, Deana Brooks of Benton; a son, Mark Saling of Crestwood, Ky.; a sister, Sue Munley, of Benton; and one grandson.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Glenda Garland Saling; brothers Wayne Saling, Edward Saling and Claude Saling; and his parents, Everett Saling and Clara Brooks Saling.
The family has chosen a private ceremony with no visitation or local services. Inurnment will take place in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ind.
