Mr. Walter Roberts, 92, of Benton, died April 6, at at the Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray.

He was a farmer for many years in Westville also working for Roberts Vault Company. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the World War II in the Philippines.

He is survived by his son, David Bryant Roberts of Benton; grandson, Clayton Travis Roberts of Sadieville; granddaughter, Carrie Dawn Speck of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three great-grandchildren, Kavan Speck, Sam Speck and Clay Roberts. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Roberts, Sr., and Freeda (Robertson) Roberts; his wife Velma (Bryant) Roberts; and one brother, Jack Roberts.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, in the chapel of the Sunset Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ill.

Pastor Jim Blue officiated.

Interment followed in the Sandusky Cemetery, Westville, Ill.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road Ste. 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
