Virginia E. “Betsy” Pinckley, 79, of Nashville died on Nov. 24 at Alive Hospice in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Shewas born in Saltillo, Miss. She graduated from The School of Medical Technology in Memphis, Tenn., received her Bachelor of Science degree from Belmont College in Nashville, and received her Master of Arts in Education from Murray State University. She taught in the Marshall County school system for more than 27 years.

Mrs. Pinckley is survived by her son, James C. Pinckley of Houston, Texas; daughter, Kathryn P. Berhow of Franklin, Tenn., and three grandchildren; Thompson, Emily, and Boyd Berhow of Franklin, Tenn.

Mrs. Pinckley was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Marvin Pinckley, mother Katie Boyd, and father James Boyd.

A memorial service will be held at Calvert City First Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11:00 a.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Calvert City First Baptist Church or Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
