BENTON – Two people were injured in a single vehicle accident on The Purchase Parkway near the 45 mile marker shortly before noon on Monday.

Sheriff’s deputy Jason Ivey said Kimberly Powell, 34, of Benton lost control of her 2000 Infinity, overcorrected and hit a guardrail. Powell was transported to Marshall County Hospital for minor injuries.

Also injured in the accident was Powell’s husband, Lloyd Powell, 36. He was also transported to Marshall County Hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene of the accident by the Palma/Briensburg Fire Department and the Marshall County Ambulance Service.
