Two accidents, within minutes of each other last night resulted in injury to several people.

The first wreck occurred at 5:50 p.m. as 36-year old Mary Read of Cottontown, Tenn. lost control of her vehicle while ramping onto Interstate 24 east. She ran off the left shoulder of the ramp causing her vehicle to overturn.

At 5:53 p.m. 44-year old Amy Hagan of Lebanon, Ky attempted to enter the onramp in the same location as Read and was unable to bring her vehicle to a complete stop due to the first wreck. Brandon Beaudoin, age 23 of Benton, was traveling in the same direction and came to a complete stop behind Hagan. Ronald Lowe, age 65 of Lucerne, Ind. then came up behind the two and swerved to avoid a collision. The rear tires of Lowe's tanker truck struck the rear of Beaudoin's vehicle, which then struck the rear of Hagan's vehicle.

Read and Hagan, along with a passenger in Hagan's vehicle were transported to Marshall County Hospital with injuries. Beaudoin and Lowe were not injured.

The I-24 ramp onto the Purchase Parkway was shut down for approximately two hours while the accident was cleared.

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Calvert City Police Department, Marshall County EMS, Gilbertsville Fire Department and Palma-Briensburge Fire Department.
