A Tuesday afternoon wreck in Draffenville injured four people.

Josh Collins, 18, Benton, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, and attempted to turn right onto U.S. 641 from High School Road. The turn brought him into the path of a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora, driven by Alysia Hayden, 34, Benton, traveling north on U.S. 641. According to a collision report, Collins told deputies he did not see Hayden approaching.

Hayden told deputies she saw Collins pull out in front of her at the last moment. She tried to veer into the oncoming lane to avoid striking Collins but was unsuccessful. She struck the left bumper with the right side of her car. Two witnesses said Collins pulled into her lane of travel.

Collins and passenger Sabrina Collins, 13, Benton, Hayden and passenger Shane Hayden, 35, Benton, were taken to Marshall County Hospital. Two other passengers in Collins' vehicle, and three passengers in Hayden's car were uninjured.
