The North Marshall Water District dismantled its 60,000-gallon Draffenville water tank last week. The tower was installed in 1964. Bobby Gifford, district superintendent said North Marshall originally expected to pay $15,000 to take it down. The East Lowndes Water Association of Mississippi purchased the tank with the agreement to pay for disassembly and transportation costs for $10. “We saved $15,000 and got someone else water for $10,” Giffords said.
