Thomas James Grens, 58, Benton, died on Saturday, April 27, at his home.

Mr. Grens was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for 30 years. He had been the Postmaster of Morris, Ill., and also of Park Forest, Ill.

Born Saturday, Oct. 9, 1954, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Mitchell Grens and the late Joan (Jaszczak) Grens.

Surviving are his wife, Marlene Adair (Gowan) Grens, Benton; sons, Kevin Grens, wife Eileen of Lemont, Ill. and Scott Grens, wife Tricia of Chicago; daughter, Kate Bacholzky, husband Rich of Berkley, Mich.; stepdaughters Stefanie Butler of San Diego, Calif., and Sydney Butler of Plainfield, Ill.; brother Paul Grens of Manitowac, Wis.; sister Ruth Allaway of Oak Lawn, Ill,; stepmother Therese Grens of Homer Glen, Ill,; and five grandchildren.

The funeral was Saturday, May 4, at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton. Bro. Joel Frizzell officiated.

Interment followed in Maple Springs Cemetery, Benton.
