“Jack”, as he was known, was born in Ballard County on March 31, 1933 to Rollie and Pearl Bristow. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter/contractor and owner of Bristow Builders. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Velva Jean Ray Bristow; his son, Larry Dale Bristow and wife, Tracy, of Possum Trot; his daughters, Donna Bristow Rigdon and husband Steve, of Woodburn and Janet Lea Bristow Cooper, of Possum Trot; his sisters, Charlotte Bristow Powell and husband Terry, of Kevil and Maggie Bristow Park, of Paducah; his grandchildren, Jazzlyn Aldredege, Brendan Rigdon and Rachel, Micah James Rigdon, Steven Nicholas Rigdon, Jennifer Lynn Cooper Smith and Mark, and Jack Ryan Cooper and Kristen; his great grandchildren, Madeline Rigdon, Clara Rigdon, Jack Rigdon, Christina Cooper, Jazz Smith, Kenzie Smith and Koren Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie Luther Bristow and Pearl Beard Bristow; his sister, Linda Faye Wallace; his brothers, Richard “Dick” Bristow, Luther Gilbert Bristow, Billy C. Bristow, Charlie Bristow and Glenn Truman Bristow. He was also preceded in death by his grandsons, Larry Dale Bristow Jr. and Michael “Mickey” Paul Bristow.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Timothy Harris officiated. Burial followed at Fooks Cemetery.
