Richard Pershing Sr.

Mr. Richard W. “Dick” Pershing, Sr., 89, of Calvert City, died October 27, at the Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton. He was a production foreman for Airco Carbide in Calvert City. He was a member of the Calvert City United Methodist Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Howard, of Calvert City, Judy Donback, of Allamuchy, N.J. and Pam McDonald, of Simpsonville; one son, Rick Pershing of Possum Trot; 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Elizah “A.E.” Pershing and Hazel (Ragel)Pershing; his wife, Mary Frances (Tussey) Pershing; and two brothers, Paul Pershing and Leslie Pershing.

Funeral services were held October 29, at the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home. Lynn Jones officiated.

Interment followed in the Calvert City Cemetery, in Calvert City.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Calvert City Convalescent Center Therapeutic Garden, P.O. Box 7, Calvert City, KY 42029, or to the Calvert City United Methodist Church Food Pantry, P.O. Box 128, Calvert City, KY 42029.
