WIth the May 20 primary election a little more than two months away, democratic and republican candidates for state and local offices are beginning to make their platforms known across the county.
Both parties have scheduled events on March 22 to allow the community to meet the candidates and learn their views.
The Marshall County GOP will host such an event from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. this Saturday at Republican headquarters, located at 100 East 12th Street. Republican candidates for State Senate, State Representative, County Judge Executive and County Commissioner will be on hand.
The Marshall County Democratic Party will host the first of three meet and greet events on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union Hall at 4562 U.S. 62 in Calvert City. All democratic candidates, both opposed and unopposed in the upcoming election, have been invited to attend.
The democratic party will also host events in Benton on April 19 at the Joe Creason Community Building at 7:00 p.m. and at the Hardin Senior Citizens Center on April 26 at 7:00 p.m.
