Mrs. Pauline Elrod, 90, of Symsonia passed away Sunday, August 10 at 5:15 a.m. at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton.

She was born Tuesday, November 20, 1923 in Benton. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Phillips and the late Lathus (Holland) Curtis. She was the wife of the late Ernest Elrod.

She was a homemaker and retired from the Marshall County Board of Education where she worked as a cook. Mrs. Elrod was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, David Brent Elrod of Hardmoney, two daughters, Barbara J. Sloan of Benton and Vicky Sue Elrod of Benton, two sisters, Edna Earl Smith of Copperas Cove, Texas and Betty Williamson of Beaumont, Texas, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Ernest Ray Elrod, and one sister, Fredia Emory.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 13 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Chad Sloan officiated. Interment followed in the Feezor Cemetery in Benton.
