Owen R. Lampley, 87, of Benton, died Tuesday, December 6, at Lourdes Hospital.

Mr. Lampley was a retired painter, and a member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Lampley Robinson of Benton; four sons, Darrell Lampley of Smithland, Craig Lampley of Calvert City, James Hollowell and Craig Hollowell both of Paducah; one sister, Peggy Lampley of LaCenter; one brother, Jimmy Don Lampley of Calvert City; seven grandchildren; and two great granchdildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorine Hill Lampley; his second wife, Reba Lois Caneer Lampley; one son, Steven Hollowell; seven brothers, Johnny Lampley, Charlie Lampley, Paul Lampley, Tom Lampley, Bobby Lampley, Billy Lampley and Marion Howard Lampley; and two sisters, Jeannie Story and Ruth Hughes. His parents were Benjamin Frank Lampley and Rachel Lee Ward Lampley.

Funeral services were held December 8, at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Danny Ferrell officiated and burial with military rites followed in the Fooks Cemetery.
