According to a preliminary report, Cory Burkeen had no alcohol in his bloodstream when his car swerved and struck a car full of Marshall County residents.

Marshall County Attorney Jeff Edwards told the Tribune Courier of the preliminary report late Monday. Burkeen’s blood is still being tested for other illegal substances. Results are expected to be released Tuesday morning.

Shane McKenty and Landon Lovett remain hospitalized following the Memorial Day wreck.

After the accident, investigators said they found Burkeen smelling of alcohol, and several alcoholic beverage containers around his vehicle.

Pending the final results, Burkeen could face charges.
