The 7th grade Benton Middle School girls basketball team traveled to Marion, on Saturday, January 21 to compete in the Crittenden County Middle School Snowball Shootout. The team played very well and won the Snowball Shootout with three victories over: Crittenden Co. and Ballard Memorial (twice).

BMS got off to a good start in their first game against the host school, Crittenden County. The girls came out and played great defense and went on to win 40 - 24.

In the second game, BMS beat Ballard Memorial 35 - 18. Again, BMS came out and played great defense and caused Ballard Memorial several turnovers. All players came into the game and contributed with a 35 - 18 final score and a spot in the championship game.

In the championship game, BMS played Ballard Memorial again who had worked through the consolation side of the bracket back to the championship game. BMS again started out great defensively, scoring several baskets with their full court pressure. All players contributed to the 41 - 18 Snowball Shootout championship game victory.

Overall a great tournament, where all players were able to gain game experience. The 7th grade BMS girls overall team record is 22 - 1.
