DRAFFENVILLE — McDonald’s is considering Draffenville for a new restaurant.
Jason Sams, principal and owner of Suburban Design Group, said his company is a consultant that evaluates potential locations for the fast food chain.
“We’re investigating a potential site and doing studies of the area but have not submitted a plan,” Sams said. “We’re doing our due diligence, but a lot of facts are on a need-to-know basis. We don’t want to do anything that would jeopardize the land component of the deal or place us in any undue hardship.”
Sams said due to a confidentiality agreement with McDonald’s, he could not divulge the location being considered.
“It’s hard to say if or when a restaurant will open,” Sams said. “It could be six months or two years. Right now, we’re at the very beginning of considering a property.”
Sams said McDonald’s or a franchise owner has not purchased any land for a restaurant at this time.
McDonald’s has two locations in Marshall County, one in Benton and one in Calvert City.
