Mrs. Mavis (Jacobs) Spiceland, 92, of Paducah, (Sharpe Community), died Saturday, April 28, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City.

She was a homemaker and a 50 year member of the Sharpe Homemaker’s Club. She was a member of the Sharpe Church Of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Bernadine Spiceland Barlow of Paducah; two sons, R.M. Spiceland, Jr. of Benton, and Mickey Terrell Spiceland of Calvert City; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Rymon Jacobs and Eva (Coy) Jacobs; her husband, Roscoe Mills Spiceland, Sr.; one son, Michael Raymond Spiceland; one daughter, Carolyn Sue Fitzgerald; one brother, Gordon Jacobs and one sister, Ruby Underhill.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Mike Fields will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery, Sharpe.
