Mason was of Methodist faith, and a graduate of Brewers High School in 1948. He worked at Air Products in Calvert City for twenty-five years. He was a veteran of U.S. Navy having served during the Korean crisis.
Survivors include his wife Sallie Dye Cope; one sister, Evelyn Vaughn, of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his parents, Ruble and Kada Lyles Copeone; son, Michael Wayne Cope; and one brother, Darrell Cope.
Services were held June 1, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Brent Ballow officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
