MURRAY – Marshall County opens play in the First Region tournament tonight by taking on the only region team to put a blemish on their record – Graves County.
The Eagles won a 63-60 decision at home Feb. 3.
Since that win, the Eagles (19-13) are 3-2, including a 40-30 loss at Lone Oak and a 66-48 defeat at the hands of St. Mary in the Third District tournament championship. Marshall County, 29-2, has won seven straight, including a 57-52 win over Calloway County in the First District title game.
The Marshall-Graves clash comes at 7:45 p.m., after Fulton City and Lone Oak open the session at 6 p.m. Fulton City (16-12) is the First District champion while Lone Oak (14-17) was runner-up in the Second District.
THURSDAY: First-round play on the boys’ side continues, with St. Mary meeting Carlisle County at 6 p.m. and Paducah Tilghman facing Calloway County at 7:45.
