DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County swept boys’ and girls’ ends of a tennis match with Ballard Memorial at the MCHS courts March 12, each team evening its season mark at 1-1.

The Marshals won 9-0 and the Lady Marshals took a 3-1 win over a short-handed Lady Bomber squad.

Coleman Flentge, Noah Cox, Russell Shanahan, Adam Padgett, Huston Harrington and Tanner Johnson had singles victories.

Shanahan and Harrington, Brandon Jones and John Morabito and Padgett and Will Forbis took doubles wins.

On the girls’ side, Elizabeth Padgett and Miranda Ballard won singles matches and Shandra Sullivan teamed with Jeanette Capuano to take the only doubles match.

“We shortened some matches due to nightfall,” coach Todd Anderson said.

“We are proud of the effort and improvement players from both teams have shown,” Anderson said, “and we will continue to work to improve more.”
