Marshall County fair kicks off with pageants this weekend

BENTON – The Marshall County A&I Fair gets underway with the pre-teen, teen and Miss Marshall County Fair pageants this Saturday at 2 p.m. and the baby and toddler pageants following at 6:00 p.m.

The entertainment continues on June 6 with Jesse Keith Whitley, son of the late Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan. Whitley will perform at H.H. Lovett Park in Benton at 8:00 p.m. in an outdoor concert. Local artists, Kalib Swift and Josh Tubbs will open the show.

Also on June 6 the Warrior four cylinder car races will be held at HH Lovett Park. Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m., with the event kicking off at 6 p.m.

One of the highlights of the fair is the KenTenn Truck and Tractor Pull scheduled for June 7. The pull will feature prostock diesels, open four wheel drives, 7000SS and prostreet 4X4’s.

The fair will conclude with the Demolition Derby on Saturday, June 9 as participants will compete for a $2000 first place prize. The Derby will also be held inside H.H. Lovett Park.

Fair Exhibits may be viewed beginning on June 5 from 4-6 p.m. and again on June 6 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
