Mark was a 1976 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned his Bachelors of Science degree in 1983 from Murray State University. He was a brick mason. Mark was an avid fisherman, loved gardening and was a dedicated fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother, Iris Harper Barrett of Possum Trot; his sister, Lori Barrett of Gilbertsville, his brother, Phil Barrett of Calvert City; two nephews, Kyle Barrett and Kody Barrett; and one great nephew, Keaton Ray Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gene Barrett; his paternal grandparents, Ollie James Barrett and Kittie Elizabeth Blackwell Barrett; and his maternal grandparents, Harvie Louis Harper and Alice Hill Harper.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at Fooks Cemetery. Rev. Jewell Barrett will officiate and burial will follow in the Fooks Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
