Mae Fern (Hillis) King, 87, of Benton, passed away Sunday, March 16, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton. She was retired from TVA where she worked as an information clerk at the north entrance. Mrs. King was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was of the Baptist Faith.

She was born Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Bisco, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Freed Hillis and the late Lela (Lawrence) Hillis. She was the wife of the late Hyman King.

She is survived by her son by marriage, Steve King, wife Cindy of Gilbertsville, daughter by marriage, Kathy Joyce of Jackson, Tenn., son Richard Roberts, wife Anna of Fayetteville, Ark., daughter, Mary Sue Morris of Paducah, brother: Ben Hillis of Atkins, Ark.; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Thomas H. Hillis.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home. Rev. Rex Jones officiated.

Interment followed in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens in Benton.
