Madelyn was a legal secretary for the Lovett Law Firm and Pal Howard Law Office. She and her late husband, Etcyel both were greatly involved with the Girl Scouts of America. In 1958 they were honored with the “Badge of Thanks” the highest volunteer award given by the Girl Scouts of America.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, Paul Whiteside of Benton; one niece, Paula Louise Williams of Omaha, Neb. and one nephew, James Taylor Whiteside of Broken Arrow, Okla.
She was preceded in death her husband, Etcyel Junior Conrad; two sisters, Mary Ella Whiteside and Wanda Jean Lowers and her parents, Thomas Ray Palmer and Hazel Fern Gilbert Palmer.
Memorial services were held Friday, September 23, at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
