He retired from SKW Alloys formerly Pittsburgh Metallurgical Company. He was an active member of the Hardin Berkley Masonic Lodge # 567 for over 48 years.
Louis is survived by his wife, Garvilene Darnall Collins; three daughters, Sue Griggs of Calvert City, Louise Turner of Cadiz, and Janyce Sorrells of Paducah; son, Louis Earl (Butch) Collins Jr of Wausau, Wis.; sister, Jerlene Collins Curling of Benton; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Edna Newton Collins; brother, William Lee (Bill) Collins and sister, Jeanie Carolyn Collins.
Memorial services were held March 30, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory with Curtis Johnston officiating.
A private inurnment will follow at a later date
