Loraine Byars, 80, of Benton, died Wednesday, June 20, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Born August 19, 1931 in Lyon County, she was a homemaker and member of Benton First United Methodist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Edward Ray Bennett and the late Helen Parrish Bennett.

She is survived by her husband: Raymond “Ray” Byars, Benton, son: Ricky Byars, Benton, daughters: Ann Anderson, Benton, Lori English, Knoxville, Tenn., Amy Waggoner, Benton, brothers Charles Bennett, Kuttawa, Johnny Bennett, Fairfield, Texas, and sisters: Ethelyne Riley, Fredonia, Pat Smith, Fredonia, Judy Cliff, Princeton, Mary Dycus, Chesterton, Ind., Linda Dyer, Eddyville, Sandra White, Eddyville.

Mrs. Byars is also survived by her grandchildren Lee Anderson, Benton, Luke Anderson, Benton, Charles “Rett” English III, Louisville,KY, Lucy English, Bowling Green, Susanne Meyer, Calvert City, Claire Waggoner and Chloe Waggoner, Benton, and great grandchildren Austin Meyer, Calvert City, Blake Meyer, Calvert City, Eli Jane Anderson, Benton, and Owen Bennett Anderson, Benton.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Othell Knight and brother Bobby Bennett.
