Lila Futrell Oakley, 96, of Murray died Monday, Sept. 17, at her home.

A native of Trigg County, she was the daughter of Martin Futrell and Ida Mae Dixon Futrell.

Mrs. Oakley was a quilter. She worked in several area restaurants including the Sunset Inn in Golden Pond. She was a member of the former Golden Pond Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Oakley; daughter Ora Mae Hunter; sister Tilda Futrell Oakley; and brothers Roy Futrell and Odell Futrell.

Mrs. Oakley is survived by daughter Vickey Lane of Cadiz; son M.C. Oakley of Murray; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Elm Grove Cemetery with Bro. Irvin Darnall officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray.
