Funeral services for Lee Anna Yancy, age 80, of Paducah, were held Sunday, August 14, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, the Rev. Mike Nolen officiated. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Yancy passed away Wednesday, August 10, at her home.
As a young woman, Lee Anna worked at Claussner’s Hosiery Mill. She was a longtime member of Bellview Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a nursery worker.
Lee Anna is survived by her husband of 61 years, William C. Yancy, and her daughter, Martha Sue Yarbrough, of Paducah. She is also survived by one sister, Sue Beck, of Texas, three brothers, Harry Burton, of Paducah, Donald Burton, of Indiana, and Jack Burton, of Union City, Tenn. Additional survivors include her four grandchildren, Amber Yancy, Christa Yancy, Renee’ Yarbrough, and Austin Yarbrough, along with five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a special caregiver, Sandy Streit.
Lee Anna was preceded in death by two sons, William Bruce Yancy, and George “Eddie” Yancy, one sister, and her grandparents who raised her, George and Susie Burton. Her parents were Harry Edward and Marguerite Bratton Burton.
