DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County rallied from a five-point halftime deficit to hand Calloway County a 54-50 defeat Friday night and claim the top seed in the girls’ Fourth District basketball tournament seedings.
Junior forward Allie York poured in a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Marshals to their fifth straight win and a 20-8 record, 5-1 in district play. The Lady Lakers, who stole an overtime win over Marshall County Jan. 6, lost for the third time in four games and slipped to 18-10, 4-2.
The Lady Marshal defense held Calloway to 43 percent shooting, including an icy 14.3 percent (one of seven) from three-point range.
Taylor Futrell scored 17 points for Calloway.
