Marshall County’s Lady Marshals took an easy win over Graves County and finished second to Calloway County in Saturday’s Warren South Invitational tournament at Country Creek Golf Course in Franklin.

Cayce Hendrickson finished third, two strokes behind medalist Anna Hack of Calloway, and Bailey Tyree tied for fourth place in individual standings.

The Lady Lakers won with a team score of 281 over Marshall County’s 305. Hack shot a 7-under 65, with Pulaski County’s Elsa Moberly one shot back at 66 and Hendrickson another stroke behind at 67 in a hotly contested battle for first place.

Tyree tied with Warren East’s Hannah Turner at 70. Devan Doss carded an 85 and Hallie Riley a 96.

On Thursday, the Lady Marshals rolled behind Hendrickson and Bailey, who shot 37 and 39, respectively, to a 159-203 win over Graves County at Kentucky Dam Village State Park in Gilbertsville.

Doss, Riley and Karly Hardin filled out the Lady Marshals team scoring at 40, 43 and 50. Callie Rudd (54) and Kennadi Spraggs (62) also competed.

Emily Whitnell paced the Lady Eagles with a 40.

Also on Thursday at Kentucky Dam Village, the Marshals boys team battled to a tie against Graves at 164 apiece.

D.J. Pigg and Graves County’s Lance Davis led their teams with rounds of 38. Also contributing for Marshall were Peyton Porter (42), Conner Jones (42), Garrett Howell (42), Quinn Eaton (43), Tyler Powell (45), Jay Nimmo (47) and Dylan Dodson (49), with the top four scores counting.

Justin Roberts (41, Hayden Cash (42) and Blake Thomas (43) tallied for the Eagles.

A boys-girls dual match against Livingston Central at Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter was rained out on Aug. 12.

This week, the Lady Marshals take on Paducah Tilghman today at Benton Country Club, then travel to Princeton on Thursday for a tri-match with Caldwell County and Crittenden County. Both dates are boys-girls clashes.

The Marshals were set to open the week on Monday against St. Mary at Calvert City Country Club.

Both squads are in tournament play Saturday, the girls at the Madison Central Invitational at Battleground Golf Club in Richmond and the boys in the Ballard Memorial Invitational at Ballard Country Club in La Center.

Christian Fellowship was scheduled to play Fulton County Monday at Hickman Country Club, followed by matches with Crittenden County at Marion Country Club today and against Carlisle County at Cunningham Country Club Thursday.
