DRAFFENVILLE – Allie York scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Lady Marshals to a 57-44 win over Ballard Memorial in girls’ basketball Tuesday night at Reed Conder Gymnasium.
Coach Joseph Simmons’ team celebrated Senior Night as they closed out regular-season play with a 22-8 record.
York got the game’s first basket and added a free throw to make it a 3-0 lead, and Marshall County never looked back. The Lady Marshals raced out to a 19-4 lead the first quarter stop and were never threatened.
The team clinched the top seed in next week’s Fourth District tournament last week with two district wins over Community Christian Academy and Calloway County. Ballard, the No. 2-seeded team in the Third District, finishes 14-11.
Taylor Meadows added 10 points for the Lady Marshals. Brandi Jones led the Lady Bombers with 18.
