Mrs. Mary Katherine “Kay” Gream, 80, of Benton, died Wednesday, December 28, at her home.

She retired as a waitress from the Holiday Inn in Peoria, Ill., and was a member of the Maple Spring United Methodist.

She is survived by her son; Fred Shores of El Paso, Texas; one sister; Ruth Carlene Fortner of Centralia, Ill.; two brothers, Hayden Carey Gream of Henderson, Texas, and William Joseph Gream of Platte City, Mo., several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her son, Worth Shores; one brother, James Wesley Gream; three sisters, Bonnie Jean Linden, Shirley Ann Rodawald, and Elizabeth Nelle McGilvary. Her parents were Carey Hayden Gream and Mary Evon (Andrus) Gream.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 2, in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Kenny Locke and Rev. Barry Roberts officiated.

Interment followed in the Stewart Cemetery, in Almo.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson St., Paducah, KY 42003.
