The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Downey of Benton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. L. Wayne Maddox and the late Glenda Maddox of Benton and Mr. James C. Downey and the late Barbara Downey of Michigan City, Ind. The bride chose her sister, Miss Anna Downey of Benton as maid of honor, Mrs. Emily Groves, Mrs. Jessica Martin, and Miss Jennifer Parker, all of Lexington served as bridesmaids.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of Versailles. He is the grandson of Mrs. Emma Jean Johnson and the Late Ray Johnson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bogie. The groom chose his brother, Mr. Anthony Johnson of Frankfort as his best man. Mr. Kary Allen of Versailles, Mr. Chris Glass of Lawrenceburg, and Mr. Chris Johnson of West Palm Beach, Fla. served as groomsmen. Ushers were James S. Downey of Louisville, brother of the bride, and Kevin Johnson.
A reception followed at Keeneland Clubhouse in Lexington.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in materials engineering in 2007 and a master’s in business administration in 2011 from the University of Kentucky. She is employed by Tempur-Pedic as a program manager in Lexington.
The groom is a graduate of Woodford County High School in Versailles and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1999 from the University of Kentucky. He is employed by Ceradyne Advanced Technical Ceramics as a process engineer in Lexington.
After a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Lexington, Kentucky.
